(UNDATED) - Governor Mitch Daniels plans a five minute broadcast tonight at six pm to outline his budget proposal for the upcoming special session of the general assembly.

The governor will then make his formal budget presentation before Senator Luke Kenley's senate appropriations committee on Tuesday.

Kenley says kindergarten through grade 12 school funding will be the primary concern, accounting for about fifty percent of state spending.

He says the philosophical clashes that stymied the budget during the regular legislative session have dissipated.

While Kenley agrees with Daniels' desire to leave the state's rainy day fund untouched, he says the larger revenue shortfall in the new budget forecast will make that goal difficult.

The senator thinks Governor Daniels will call for the special session to begin between June 10th and June 15th.

The state's current budget expires after June 30th.
