(WHITESTOWN) - An ex-husband was charged Friday with attempted murder after his ex-wife was found Thursday beaten bloody with a hammer in her new town home.
31-year-old Michael Stayer of Zionsville was also charged with aggravated battery, battery and domestic battery.
His ex-wife, 32-year-old Beth Stayer, is listed in critical condition at an Indianapolis hospital.
Her children, ages 2 and 5, were at home at the time of the beating, but police don't know whether they saw the attack.
