Coroner Investigating Bodies And Cremated Remains Found In Funeral Home

Last updated on Tuesday, June 16, 2009

(GARY) - The Lake County coroner is processing missing paperwork on people whose funeral arrangements were handled by the Serenity Gardens Funeral home in Gary.

That's where several bodies and cremated remains were found last month, three years after the funeral home closed.

But coroner David Patrick says several other families never received a valid death certificate for their loved ones whose arrangements were made through the funeral home.

Meanwhile, authorities are conducting a criminal investigation into Darryl Cammack's operation of the funeral home.
