Today Last Day For Daniels To Pass Bills

Last updated on Wednesday, May 13, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Today is the last day for Governor Daniels to sign or veto bills from this year’s regular session of the general assembly.

24 bills are awaiting Daniels' signature, including a bailout for the unemployment insurance trust fund, which Daniels has already said he will sign.

The governor issued his first two vetoes of the session yesterday, rejecting a bill to let county election boards set up satellite voting centers even if one member objects.

He also vetoed as redundant a bill requiring new state government buildings to follow energy-efficiency guidelines.
