(INDIANAPOLIS) - A sentencing hearing gets underway today for James Brackin.

He is the man accused of getting into a bar fight with IndyCar mechanic Davey Evans last year before the Indy 500.

Evans suffered a stroke and died after the fight at Kazablanca Bar.

Brackin has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and faces six to twenty years in prison.

More than 125 letters have been handed to the judge.

The letters are from race car drivers, team owners and members of the IndyCar series.

Evans was a member of the Newman Haas Race Team.
