Lafayette Recieves Funds To Build Houses

Last updated on Friday, May 29, 2009

(LAFAYETTE) - The Indiana Housing & Community Redevelopment Authority has awarded more than 7.7 million dollars in neighborhood stabilization funding to the city of Lafayette.

The money will help improve an existing neighborhood by building 15 single family homes, rehabilitating eight others and providing 89 rental units.

Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski says the funding will "save and revitalize" an entire city neighborhood.

Funding was awarded in response to a grant request submitted in March.
