H1N1 Virus Not Causing Issues For Hoosier Blood Banks Yet

Last updated on Tuesday, May 5, 2009

(UNDATED) - Operations at the Indiana Blood Center have not been affected by the H1N1 flu virus.

Dr. Dan Waxman with the Indiana blood center says they wouldn't take blood from someone who is sick.

Dr. Waxman says no blood drives have been affected by the flu. He also says none of the staff has been affected by the virus either. The flu has affected operations at a center in Illinois.

They had to cancel a blood drive at a school which has been closed because of the flu.

The Indiana Blood Center is always looking for donors but says not to donate if you are sick.
