(SOUTH BEND) - During his second commencement address Sunday, President Barack Obama did not shy away from the controversy that preceded him at Notre Dame in South Bend.

Many abortion opponents on and off campus protested the appearance based on the president's support for abortion rights.

Mr. Obama said both sides of the debate can find common ground.

Nearly 40 people were arrested on trespassing charges during the president's visit.
