Vevay Rated 4th Coolest Small Town In America

Last updated on Thursday, April 16, 2009

(VEVAY) - Budget Travel magazine’s coolest small towns in America were announced on the CBS morning show Wednesday.

Vevay, in Southeastern Indiana, was named the fourth coolest town. Kendal Miller, with the Switzerland County tourism bureau, says for its top 10 finish the town of about 1,700 will be featured in the October issue of Budget Travel magazine.

She says Vevay will make the most of their bragging rights, changing city limit signs and tourism information to promote it as one of America's coolest small towns.

Vevay, located on the Ohio River in Switzerland County, was the first Indiana town ever nominated for the contest.

The magazine's coolest American small town is Owego, New York; number two is Rockland, Maine and number three is Grinnell, Iowa.
