Police Warn Hoosiers Of Escaped Florida Inmates Headed For Crawfordsville

Last updated on Friday, April 17, 2009

(CRAWFORDSVILLE) - Authorities believe two escapees from a Florida jail could be heading to Crawfordsville, Indiana.

The Crawfordsville police are working with Indiana State Police, US Marshals and police in both Kentucky and Florida to track down 23-year-old Doni Brown and 25-year-old Timothy Fletcher, who escaped from the Putnam County, Florida jail Wednesday.

Since their escape, the two are suspected of killing a 66-year-old woman and ditching a stolen car hundreds of miles away in Kentucky. Lt. Johnny Greenwood says the concern expands beyond Crawfordsville.

He encourages citizens around the state to be aware.

Police said the two could be driving a 2003, four-door Oldsmobile Alero stolen from Kentucky.
