Former Marion County Prosecutor Pleads Guilty In Drunk Driving Death

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A former Marion County prosecutor has pleaded guilty in a drunk-driving case that killed a man.

28-eight year-old Terry Record appeared Wednesday in Marion Superior Court and pleaded guilty to a Class C felony charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, causing death. Record admits he was drinking beer and shots with a stripper at Brad's Brass Flamingo in May 2007.

Prosecutors say he left the bar drunk, ran a red light at Southeastern Avenue and Pleasant Run Parkway and crashed into a truck driven by 46 year-old Jimmy Cash.

The impact killed Cash. Record's blood alcohol level was 0.15 at the time of the fatal crash., that's nearly twice the state legal limit of 0.08.

The attorney faces up to eight years in prison at his sentencing hearing June 2nd.
