Prison Officials Considering Changing Their Policies After The Escape Of Three Inmates

Last updated on Saturday, March 28, 2009

(BRANCHVILLE) - Officials at the Branchville Correctional Facility are reviewing their policies after three inmates escaped last Friday.

Indiana Department of Correction communications chief Doug Garrison says the prison is studying whether policy changes are needed.

The three fugitives were caught Thursday night in Alliance, Nebraska.

After cutting through a fence at the jail, they allegedly attacked three men at a Kentucky home - and stole a truck, cash, clothing and guns.

They're being held in Box Butte, Nebraska jail - some 900 miles away from the Indiana prison they left.

Meantime, a prison maintenance worker who was injured by the escapees remains in stable condition at a Louisville hospital.
