Indiana State Police Trooper Struck By Pick-Up While Conducting Traffic

(CARMEL) - An Indiana state police trooper conducting a traffic stop was struck by a pick-up truck Saturday morning.

The crash occurred on U-S 31 just north of I-465 during a DUI saturation patrol.

Trooper Christopher Townsend was taken to Methodist hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck's driver , 35-year-old Miguel Xicara, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving while suspended.
