(GARY) - Gary mayor Rudy Clay says his city’s outlined 43 new money-making projects - thanks to incoming stimulus funding - and he wants the community to weigh in on what’s at stake.
Clay has invited elected officials, business people, educators and clergy to a meeting next week to receive a presentation of projects proposed for Gary and the job potential through federal and state stimulus funds.
City officials have projected that over 18-thousand jobs will be created.
Some of the projects proposed for Gary include airport expansion, construction of public facilities, public safety jobs, transit equipment, and energy and green jobs - among others.
