(HAMMOND) - Authorities say an apartment fire in Hammond killed a 14-year-old girl and sent two family members to a hospital.
Elizabeth Schnyder was pronounced dead of burns and smoke inhalation Saturday at the Greenbriar Apartments.
The girl's mother and brother suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to a Chicago-area hospital.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
