(JEFFERSONVILLE) - After an all-day standoff in Louisville, the man suspected in the shootings of two Jeffersonville police officers has been found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police found the body of 37-year-old Robert Datillo of Jeffersonville after tossing a tear gas canister into the house where he had been holed up.

Police questioned and released two other men.

Corporal Dan Lawhorn and patrolman Keith Broady were shot at the door of a room at Motel Six--where drug activity had been reported.

Police later found drugs and two pipe bombs--which were safely detonated.

Both officers are in stable condition.
