State Increases Funding For Weatherization Assistance

Last updated on Monday, December 8, 2008

(UNDATED) - The number of households in Indiana receiving help in lowering their heating bills is expected to double over the next two years, thanks to an increase in funding for the state’s weatherization program.

Indiana will receive an additional $6.2 million for weatherization services.

The extra funding means 3,000 additional people will get help in reducing heating bills by replacing inefficient systems or improving a home's insulation. However, an individual's or family's income be must be at 150 percent of the federal poverty level to qualify for assistance.
