(CROWN POINT) - A lawsuit has been filed against a priest accused of molesting an 11-year-old Munster boy in 2004.
The victim, now 16 and living in Hobart, and his parents claim the abuse came more than 13 years after church leaders first learned of claims against the Reverend Richard Emerson alleging he had "inappropriate relationships with young boys" when he was assigned to a parish in Florida.
Lawsuits were also filed against church leaders in Orlando, alleging Emerson molested children there before he was transferred to the Gary diocese in 1992.
Emerson has never been charged criminally.
