(LAFAYETTE) - A Lafayette man accused of murdering his childhood friend made his first court appearance Tuesday.
The Lafayette Journal-Courier says 25 year-old Jeremy Knoy of Lafayette is accused of murdering 26 year-old Derek Liphard of Indianapolis. Liphard was found dead Friday night in Knoy's Lafayette apartment.
According to court documents, Knoy admitted to striking Liphard with a baseball bat after a night in which the two drank alcohol and smoked marijuana.
Results of an autopsy have not been released.
