Twin Sisters Suspended From Teaching Jobs After Meth Charges

(SOUTH BEND) - Twin sisters arrested on meth charges following a fire at their South Bend home have been suspended from their teaching jobs.

Maria and Michelle Stancati each face one count of dealing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of school property.

They were arrested Tuesday after firefighters responding to a fire and explosion detected a strong odor of ammonia in their home.

Michelle Stancati was a teacher at North Side Middle School in Elkhart, while her sister was a teacher at Elkhart Memorial High School.

Both are 35 years old.
