(FRANKFORT) - A woman who admitted to abandoning her young son at a Frankfort Wal-Mart store appeared in court Monday.
39-year-old Julia Ornelas pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent by abandonment.
Ornelas' court-appointed attorney declined to comment on why Ornelas left her then 3-year-old son at the store in June. She left him with only a backpack that contained some personal items and a handwritten note in Spanish.
Sentencing is scheduled for December 22.
