Autopsy Reveals Homicide Of Kokomo Infant

Last updated on Wednesday, November 26, 2008

(KOKOMO) - The death of a baby in Kokomo has been ruled a homicide.

Kokomo Police Lieutenant Don Whitehead says an autopsy conducted in Indianapolis determined 11-month-old Malaki Lindley suffered blunt force trauma to the head which resulted in his death.

Whitehead says investigators are interviewing family members and caregivers as well as collecting photograph and other evidence to work with pediatric trauma staff at Riley Hospital For Children.

Whitehead says the doctors will help establish a timeline as to when the injuries would have occurred. Investigators will use that information to determine how the injuries occurred and who administered them.

Little Malaki Lindley was rushed to Howard Regional Health System in Kokomo Sunday morning after he was found unconscious and unresponsive. He was later transferred to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis where he died Sunday evening.
