(UNDATED) - State Police cars are commonly seen in the medians looking for speeding or unsafe drivers. Now state troopers may be sitting in a semi truck rolling down the highway.
The Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division has begun a new traffic enforcement program: ticketing aggressive cars and trucks - ride along, nicknamed TACT-RA.
A trooper observer will ride along with truck drivers and look for violations committed around big trucks.
The trooper observer will then call other troopers, who will be in the area, to stop the aggressive driver.
Police will target interstates and state highways in high crash corridors.
