Last updated on Thursday, October 23, 2008

(JEFFERSONVILLE) - A Clark County judge is accepting a guilty plea from a man charged with killing a brother and sister and wounding another sibling outside a Jeffersonville bar.

Derek Lawson pleaded guilty to two counts of voluntary manslaughter and one count of attempted murder Tuesday on the first day of his trial. Clark County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jeremy Mull says he will recommend an 80-year prison sentence.

Lawson was charged with killing 25-year-old Dyjuan Latendresse and his sister, 21-year-old April Jones. Latendresse and Jones' brother, 17-year-old Jonathan Jones, was wounded in the September 2007 shooting.

Police say Lawson and Latendresse had been involved in a violent, four-year feud.
