(UNDATED) - The entire stretch of I-65 through Indiana is now officially part of the nation’s first biofuel corridor.
If you have a flex fuel vehicle, that means you can refuel with E85 ethanol anywhere on the interstate from Gary to the Gulf of Mexico.
A total of 31 gas stations on the interstate now have E85 fuel pumps and 19 of them are in Indiana. Some may be located up to four miles away from an exit, but signs will appear soon directing drivers to the E85 stations.
The biofuel corridor has been a two year project supported by a $3 million federal grant. Indiana's Clean Cities Program also gave $25,000 to each participating gas station to help pay for the new pump, which can cost up to a quarter million dollars.
