Good Samaritans Respond To Puppy's Plight

Last updated on Wednesday, October 8, 2008

(MARTINSVILLE) - The Morgan County Humane Society got a tremendous response to the need for $1,500 dollars to repair Mabel’s “broken heart”.

Executive Director Angie Loudermilk says the three-month-old puppy will get her life-saving heart surgery at Purdue University on October 14th.

The 15-pound hound mix arrived at the Morgan County Humane Society a few weeks ago after being abandoned.

Loudermilk says donations are still being accepted for Mabel's post-surgery medication. After she recovers, Mabel will have no problem finding a new home since dozens of people have offered to adopt her after hearing about her plight.
