(UNDATED) - Gas prices are plummeting in Indiana. The average price of a gallon of unleaded on Tuesday was $2.42, which is 6 cents lower than the previous day and a $1.27 cents lower than a month ago.
Indiana Petroleum Marketers Association Executive Director Scott Imus says the drop is due to the lower price that crude oil trading for.
Imus says the lower prices not only help the consumer, but the gas stations and convenience stores as well. He says cheaper gas leads to profitability because more consumers go into the stores to buy items.
Some gas stations in Central Indiana were selling gas at a $1.95 on Tuesday.
