Volunteers Find New Home For Displaced Pets

Last updated on Monday, September 22, 2008

(LAKE STATION) - Volunteers and agencies are finding room for pets displaced by flooding in Northwest Indiana.

The Humane Society of Northwest Indiana in Gary helped out the Boys and Girls Club in Lake Station when evacuated residents being sheltered there needed to find a better place for their pets.

The pets -- 10 dogs, four cats, birds and various small animals -- are being kept in a shelter in Gary's Miller area.
