(ROCKPORT) - As part of a recreation of Abraham Lincoln's 1828 flatboat trip down the Ohio and Mississippi rivers, the U.S. Postal Service will honor the former president with a special postmark.

The Abraham Lincoln flatboat landing station in Rockport, Indiana will offer the special pictorial cancellation beginning Tuesday, September 9th. The postmark highlights the 14 years the 16th president spent living in Spencer County.

The Rockport Post Office will offer the postmark from 10am to 2pm during a ceremony. The postmark will be available for 30 days.
