Police Action Shooting Sends Man To Hospital

Last updated on Friday, September 26, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS) - An overnight police action shooting sends a man to the hospital in critical condition.

Indianapolis officers were called to a strip club, on a report of shots fired--that's when they spotted a PT Cruiser driving slowly. An officer pulled the vehicle over, but the driver reportedly jumped out and ran.

During the foot chase, police say the man turned around showed a pistol. Officer Mike Phillips ordered the man to stop and drop the weapon, then fired his gun, hitting the man once in his side.

Two other men in the vehicle are being questioned. The suspect's name has not been released.
