(INDIANAPOLIS) - The jury trial of an Indianapolis man accused of murdering an eight-year-old girl is underway.
27-year-old Emmanuel McClendon Jr. is accused of firing a gun into a house last February, killed Karissa Hitchings.
Defense attorney Dennis Thomas claims his client fired the gun in self defense, claiming the homeowner pointed a gun at McClendon. However, prosecutors say the defendant had no reason to drive by the home and circled it "like a predator."
