(INDIANAPOLIS) - The city of Indianapolis will see many abandoned homes renovated within the next five years, thanks to a large donation.

Rebuilding Together Indianapolis presented a $4 million dollar check to Mayor Greg Ballard Tuesday afternoon on the city's east side.

The money represents the amount of in-kind donations and volunteer hours that will be dedicated to housing renovations over the next five years.

Rebuilding Together Indianapolis has rehabilitated 26 homes this year and has refurbished a total of 200 homes in its 9 years.
