(INDIANAPOLIS) - A recent symposium at the Riley Heart Center focused on how to prevent heart failure in early childhood.
Doctors from all over the world converged on Indianapolis to discuss preventative measures and treatment.
Dr. Loren field with the IU School of Medicine says about one percent of newborns will suffer congenital heart disease.
Field says doctors came away from the symposium with some ideas to improve early diagnosis and genetic mapping as a preventative measure.
