Roof Worker Passes Out, Firefighters Called To Rescue

Last updated on Thursday, August 21, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A worker on the roof of the Indiana state government south building passed out and had to be rescued by the Indianapolis fire department rope rescue team.

A co-worker says 49 year-old Kevin Kincaid was working on the roof of the penthouse section of the building on West Washington Street when he passed out and fell off of the lower section of a ladder. Co-workers moved him to the shade, but called 911 after Kincaid passed out a second time.

Firefighters initially thought a rope rescue would be necessary until the building's engineers came and gave them access to a penthouse elevator.

Kincaid was taken by ambulance to Methodist Hospital in good condition.
