C.O.P.S. Ride Across Hoosier State

Last updated on Thursday, July 24, 2008

(UNDATED) - The C.O.P.S. (Concerns Of Police Survivors) bike ride is making its way around the state.

The fundraising event began in Indianapolis Monday and will conclude August 2nd.

The riders, which are mostly law enforcement officers and/or family members, ride approximately 1,200 miles around the state to raise money for the Indiana Chapter Of Concerns of Police Survivors.

In 2007, Cops Cycling For Cops raised in excess of 50,000 dollars. In August 2006, a vehicle struck the rear of a support vehicle and slammed into the riders during the ride, killing Indiana State Police Lieutenant Gary Dudley and Gary Martin with the Lake County sheriff's department.
