Cities Split State Grant For Impovements

(UNDATED) - 33 Indiana cities and towns have split $14-million dollars in state grant money for local projects.

The money from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs pays for community centers, water system improvements, downtown revitalization projects, and fire departments.

21 communities received the maximum grant of a half-million dollars. Petersburg and the towns of Francisco and New Ross received $150,000 dollars each for new fire trucks.

In Central Indiana, Shelbyville received a half-million dollars for new sidewalks and street lights downtown, while Jamestown and Whitestown received grants for water systems.
