(UNDATED) - “One of the worst agricultural disasters in state history.” Those words from Indiana Ag Commissioner Andy Miller.
State and federal officials gave an update Thursday on the floodwaters' impact on crops across the state. Miller says farmers in the effected counties can get federal assistance in the form of loans and grants.
Much of the central and southern parts of Indiana had crop damage at some level. Miller says early estimates show Indiana lost almost one-tenth of its crops in the floods.
The acres lost could total more than a million for corn, soybeans, and wheat.
