(CHESTERTON) - A multi-vehicle crash claimed the life of a semi truck driver Tuesday in Northwest Indiana.
Police say the semi driver rear-ended a flat-bed trailer on Indiana 49 in Chesterton. The crash pushed the flat-bed trailer through the intersection and sheared a box truck in half.
No other fatalities were reported. However, an Indiana State Police trooper was injured after crashing his vehicle while traveling to the scene of the accident.
