Judge Says Prosecutor Was "Strung Out On Drugs"

Last updated on Sunday, May 4, 2008

(KOKOMO) - A judiciary inquiry into a Howard County superior court judge is underway.

The "Kokomo Tribune" reports that Judge Stephen Jessup is being looked at after accusing Deputy Prosecutor David Steele of being "strung out on drugs."

Jessup reportedly made the statement after Steele failed to show for a hearing concerning a client's guilty plea. Jessup cited Steele for contempt of court that same day.

The Indiana Judicial Qualifications Commission will not confirm if anyone is under investigation.
