(INDIANAPOLIS) - A new study ranks Indianapolis tenth among the least "heart-friendly" cities for women.

The American Heart Association study is designed to help women understand how their personal health habits influence heart disease. It shows Indy rates below-average for cardiac mortality and the rate of prescriptions for control of hypertension and cholesterol.

Good news, bad news: alcohol consumption is near the lowest, but cigarette smoking among the highest of the 200 cities surveyed.

These results are significant because heart disease is the number-one killer of women and it's largely preventable by making wise heart-healthy choices.
