Sex Offender Can't Return Home, Says Judge

Last updated on Saturday, March 1, 2008

(LAFAYETTE) - A judge has ruled that a convicted sex offender forced to move by a state law can’t return to his Lafayette home.

The judge says the unidentified man has no rights to the property, because it's owned by his wife.

State law prohibits convicted sex offenders from living within 1,000 feet of a school, public park or youth center.

The man was forced to move because his home was near a church that offers youth programs.
