Indy Businesses Assist With Super Bowl Bid

Last updated on Tuesday, March 11, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Organizers say fundraising efforts for Indy’s bid for the 2012 Super Bowl are going well.

A business advisory committee is going back to each of the companies that committed a total of $25 million a year ago for the 2011 bid.

Businessman Mark Miles, who's heading up the bid committee, says they would like to have all of those pledges in hand when they present to the NFL owners in Atlanta on May 21st.

A town hall meeting was held at NCAA headquarters Monday, where they discussed building a Super Bowl village downtown to create a party atmosphere in the days leading up to the game.

It was also suggested to make it a "green" Super Bowl, organizing it in a way that is environmentally aware and presents Indianapolis as an increasingly- green city.
