(INDIANAPOLIS) - Work on cleaning tons of muck from the Downtown Indianapolis canal could be finished within two weeks.
City officials say crews have used vacuums to remove 367 semitrailer loads of sludge and waste from the canal since cleanup work began in November.
Primary contractor Merrell Brothers of Kokomo expects to finish the project by March 17, when the canal's water is to be dyed green for the St. Patrick's Day activities.
