Two Adams County Men Save Woman From Burning Car

Last updated on Sunday, February 10, 2008

(FORT WAYNE) - Two Adams County men pulled a woman from a car engulfed in flames Friday night.

Indiana State Police say 25 year-old Melinda S. Bollenbacher of Van Wert, Ohio, was driving east on CR900 North when her car slammed into a bridge abutment about 5:30pm.

Two men who live nearby, Michael Garza and Terry Chrisman, are credited by state police for rescuing her from the burning wreckage.

Bollenbacher had multiple injuries and was flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Authorities say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
