(INDIANAPOLIS) - While you're gearing up for snow removal, retailers are gearing up for springtime.

Pat Sullivan of Sullivan's Do-It Centers, says shortages of snow removal supplies are typical this time of year. Retailers gamble on how late to stock winter weather gear, so finding what you want can be tricky.

Sullivan says you want to push snow around instead of lifting and throwing it. So expect those weird looking ergonomic snow shovels to disappear from the stores first.

When using ice and snow melter, Pat says the key is how much you use, so read the label. Spreading the melter before the snow comes will achieve the best results.
