(INDIANAPOLIS) - A Chicago man is dead following a go-kart accident and many are wondering why.

Mike Corby is a local go-kart expert and says indoor tracks like Fast Times take many precautions to ensure driver safety. Corby says Fast Times is modeled after go kart tracks in Europe, who are very strict in who they let get behind the wheel. Drivers are required to take training and then are strapped into the cart.

Early reports show the man hit a Plexiglas wall on a turn and hit his head. He was wearing a seat belt and helmet at the time of the crash.

Corby says Fast Times should assess its safety measures, but already has good ones in place. Corby says he has heard of injuries on go kart tracks around the U.S., but never a crash ending in death.

Adam Robinson was from Evergreen Park, a Chicago suburb.
