Postal Service Offers Passport Card Assistance

Last updated on Friday, February 1, 2008

(UNDATED) - As people start planning for spring break and summer vacations, there’s good news from the postal service.

If you're traveling by land or sea to Canada, Mexico or the Bahamas, you can soon apply for a passport card. They are cheaper, but you can't use them if you're traveling out of country by air. If you're traveling by air, remember you need a passport and they take 4 to 6 weeks to get one.

Kim Yates with the Indianapolis Postal Service encourages anyone needing a passport for travel this year to apply for one now. She says the postal service will again host passport fairs next month, this time on Saturdays.
