(WESTVILLE) - Police are investigating an assault of an employee of the Westville Correctional Facility.
A secretary was assaulted by an inmate on Monday.
Prison spokesman John Schrader says the inmate was in an unauthorized area of the administration building and was confronted by the female secretary.
The inmate assaulted the woman, but she was able to yell for help and the prisoner ran away. The woman was treated at a hospital and released that day.
The inmate has been placed in segregation. No names are being released pending a state police investigation.
