(SCHERERVILLE) - A Schererville mother is still fighting for her life - days after a carjacker shot her and killed her baby.
29-year old Kwana Shaw is breathing with the help of a machine. Her relatives stand close by - waiting, praying and hoping for a miracle.
Shaw was shot at point-blank range Monday night at a Gary apartment complex. A masked man stole her SUV, with her 13-month old son in the vehicle. Little Josiah Shaw was found later - fatally shot.
Police have Josiah's father in custody. Police are calling him a "person of interest" in the shootings.
