Kokomo Fundraiser Brings In Cash For Homeless Women, Children

(KOKOMO) - The "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" fundraiser for the Kokomo Rescue Mission's Open Arms shelter set a new record Saturday.

About 800 walkers participated in the seventh annual walk to benefit homeless women and children.

This year's event raised nearly $79,000 according to Kokomo Rescue Mission Director of Development Bebe Dorris.

The facility provides safe shelter, meals and programs for homeless women and children.
